Here's an unemployment dashboard from June 2012, using both the heat map. You can use slicers to the left to modify and filter your data. I promise to have a walkthrough on this soon, but for now try it out!
First of all, I think this is a great app. Before this geographical analysis was only for expensive consultants with access to expensive software, now everybody can do it.
However, I am having a problem with the app, after I select my data it freezes and I can't make any other selections or run the analysis. Am I doing something wrong?
It'd also be great if the app could be expanded to enable country analysis on a world map.
Thanks for the feedback and apologies on the delay in getting back. Just went through a big move (leaving MSFT, relocating back to the east coast) and haven't been able to look into to this as much as I've wanted to. Looks like I didn't configure the post notifications properly either. Anyhow, I do want to add more formatting support and more support for world maps, so hopefully can do that in the next couple of months.
For your question above, are you still experiencing the app delays? if so, how big is the range that you are selecting? During my testing, it seemed to handle most data sets.
Hi, Does the app have functionality for differentiating by zip code (or county/city)? I'd love to approximate relative levels of shading you'd have in an intensity map via GIS.
Thank you for your all your work in an incredibly useful app.

Hi Keyur
ReplyDeleteI love this idea of heatmap, is it possible to do this by country in a world map?
